Each summer we hold a workshop for coaches and teachers to showcase the awesome-ness of the LEAF STEM Challenge and to walk participants through the process so that they can teach it to kids. (Plus, who wouldn’t want to design, build and fly their own airplane?)
This NGSS-aligned project is designed for grades 6-12 and can be used in a formal or informal setting. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to design, build and fly an electric airplane (max wingspan of 36″) that will carry the most cargo.
This year’s coaches workshop will be:
Friday, August 11 at Raisbeck Aviation High School in Seattle
Registration is Open!
Registration is $50 and includes a continental breakfast, printed materials, lunch, clock hours certificate (for WA teachers), and all supplies needed to build one airplane. (If funding is an issue, scholarships are available, please inquire.)
For more information or to register (and to see the some of the airplanes!) visit the project site.
The workshop is filling up fast and space is limited, so sign up now. Use the promo code GOSTEM17 to register for $40 until the end of May.
