What could be more fun than making cannons and firing pom poms around the classroom? In this high-interest activity, students construct a modified torus cannon to examine how air moves and experiment with payload sizes and distance.
In this design challenge, students work in pairs to construct and test their own modified torus cannons. Starting with the smallest pom pom, students will conduct a series of trials and measure how close each pom pom gets to the target.
