One particular graphic organizer that I like to provide for students is a STEM vocabulary organizer.
A STEM vocabulary organizer can be for all vocabulary words, but is most likely use as a way for kids to do a deep-dive into a few essential or key vocab words. Students determine (either on their own or with teacher direction) which word(s) will be recorded and investigate how that word relates to their unit/project of study.
Often, students run across new and unknown words in their research that they should capture for future reference. Â So many times, students just skip over the word and don’t give it a second thought, but adding that word to their vocabulary is an important step. Â This graphic organizer helps students to stop and document a new key finding. Â This graphic organizer can also be used to describe a scientific phenomenon.
