Summer is a great time for kids to explore their creativity and learn new things. And STEM activities are a fun and engaging way to do just that!
These STEM activities can be done at home or in a variety of other settings. They’re a great way for kids to learn and have fun at the same time!
To help you get started, I’ve created a free, downloadable activity board with easy STEM ideas and projects for kids. Kids can be challenged to do all of them, pick one each week or even work them Bingo-style! All of the suggested ideas require only  common, household materials and found objects and are appropriate for kids of all ages.
Here are some tips as you work with your child to explore the activities:
Make it fun!
STEM activities should be enjoyable for both you and your child. If your child is not having fun, they are less likely to learn.
Be patient.
It may take some time for your child to learn new concepts. Be patient and supportive, and they will eventually get there.
Encourage creativity.
There is no one right way to do a STEM activity, so encourage your child to be creative and experiment.
Ask questions.
Ask your child questions about what they are doing. This will help them to think critically and problem-solve.
Celebrate success.
When your child accomplishes something, be sure to celebrate their success. STEM is awesome and so are they!
